Jiu Jitsu

Jiu Jitsu is one of the oldest forms of Japanese martial arts.It was the unarmed fighting art of the Japanese Samurai-the Bushi or warrior class- using striking and grappling techniques to defeat the enemy.

It was also used to overpower a potentially much stronger attacker and restrain or incapacitate the person until help arrived.Today the police and army are taught aspects of Jiu-Jitsu for much the same reasons.

Jiu-Jitsu is an excellent martial art for self-defence and develops good all-round fitness. It is a vehicle for self-improvement and is full of fun. This form of martial art utilises the principles of physics and the knowledge of human anatomy to overcome an attacker with as little effort as possible.Using leverage and balance to one's advantage ,the practitioner achieves maximum effect with minimum effort.A large array of techniques are available, including strikes, joint locks, throws, submission holds, pins, and pressure points in order to deal with and control any situation that may arise.

In the modern world,Jiu-Jitsu is useful for practical and effective self-defense,rape prevention, and mental and physical well being.Size and flexibility are not important factors in achieving proficiency since this art does not rely on brute strength.Jiu-Jitsu helps develop a strong spirit that makes one a true champion gives the insight to unify mind and body and the determination to suceed in life.
